Is local real estate impacted by COVID-19?
Yes and No. It seems almost as if the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted every other industry, except the housing market on Long Island, in Queens and Brooklyn.
While some clients have delisted or hit pause on selling their home. Other are seeing an opportunity to have their property stand out and have listed their home.
While we are not currently visiting properties, as a team with Century 21 American Homes, we have access to a completely digital listing presentation and we are able to start marketing your home immediately to the entire world.
Should I list my home now or wait?
That's up to you and your current situation. At the Mackenzie Rae Team we have been speaking to each client and potential seller individually. Now more than ever your individual motivation may have shifted.
Should I Sell My House Now?
- Take advantage of the inventory shortage
- Because buyers can afford more with historically low interest rates
Should I wait to sell my home?
- I don’t want any additional stress.
- Where will I go if my house sells?
The fact is that now is a great time to be a seller. Prior to the outbreak the inventory in Nassau County and Queens were historically low. Inventory in Brooklyn, especially for single family homes, was the lowest we have seen in years. Coupled with low mortgage rates the buyers were in market and ready to purchase.
Well the buyers are still in market, and without the seasonal inventory increase (real estate inventory almost always rises in the spring), the homes which are currently listed are getting maximum exposure.
What about social distancing? I don't want to put my health at risk.
The Mackenzie Rae Team leans on our superior technology to make up for what we normally accomplish during an onsite listing presentation. When you're ready give us a call (646 846 8509) and we will set up a virtual meeting.
Will my home be marketed online?
Absolutely! People have all sorts of tastes and styles when looking for a home. Video calls (FaceTime if you have an iPhone), 3D tours, virtual staging or any other means via the Internet is replacing in-home walk-throughs.
We have had a huge rise in website traffic over the past few weeks and we see that trend continuing.
How else will you market my home?
As the largest Sales Team at Century 21 American Homes we tap into the database that we cultivate to help buyers be matched with sellers. So as soon as we list your home for sale, our registered buyers will receive and instant notification.
If things are fine now, what will happen to the housing market if things get worse?
That's a fair question, but no one can say for sure what will happen until it actually happens.
The Long Island Board of Realtors and Real Estate Board of New York are keeping a close eye on how well the local and national markets are doing.
The Mackenzie Rae Team will continue our communication with our clients and customers as well as our sphere of influence to help them understand how the market is preforming and when the time is right for each of them we will do what we always do… ensure they receive the best consultative service and have access to up to the minute property values and any information they may require.
