Yes and No. It seems almost as if the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted every other industry, except the housing market on Long Island, in Queens and Brooklyn.

While some clients have delisted or hit pause on selling their home. Other are seeing an opportunity to have their property stand out and have listed their home.

While we are not currently visiting properties, as a team with Century 21 American Homes, we have access to a completely digital listing presentation and we are able to start marketing your home immediately to the entire world.

 

Should I list my home now or wait?

That's up to you and your current situation. At the Mackenzie Rae Team we have been speaking to each client and potential seller individually. Now more than ever your individual motivation may have shifted.

The fact is that now is a great time to be a seller. Prior to the outbreak the inventory in Nassau County and Queens were historically low. Inventory in Brooklyn, especially for single family homes, was the lowest we have seen in years. Coupled with low mortgage rates the buyers were in market and ready to purchase.

Well the buyers are still in market, and without the seasonal inventory increase (real estate inventory almost always rises in the spring), the homes which are currently listed are getting maximum exposure.

 

What about social distancing? I don't want to put my health at risk.

Absolutely! People have all sorts of tastes and styles when looking for a home. Video calls (FaceTime if you have an iPhone), 3D tours, virtual staging or any other means via the Internet is replacing in-home walk-throughs.

We have had a huge rise in website traffic over the past few weeks and we see that trend continuing.
